The Hollis Township Assessors Office would like to make sure every property owner is receiving the appropriate exemption on their occupied property.

There are three primary exemptions available:

• The Senior Homestead Exemption - One time application and automatic renewal.
• The Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze - Renew application annually for qualified senior homesteader with a household income now of $65,000 or less.
• Owner Occupied Exemption (HRE) - Automatically applied at time of purchase for permanent residence.

Note:  The Township Assessor does not tax but places a value (assessment) based on sales on all property and helps administer exemptions.  Other exemptions are available.  Please call our office.
