    1. Mr. Darin LaHood, candidate for the States Attorney of Peoria office gave a briefing on his reasons for running for this office.
    2. Mr. Brad Harding a candidate for the Peoria County Board also explained his reasons for running for this position.
  • Communications and Correspondence
    1. The Board received information on a possible new state constitution.
    2. The Board also received copies of the 2008-2009 Legislative Survey.
    3. The Board also was informed of a community meeting to be held at the town hall on Wed. Oct 1st 2008 at 6:00 P.M. regarding prwlers and thefts in some areas of Hollis Township.
  • Town Business
    1. The Board received the annual treasurer's report.
    2. The Auditors are scheduled to address the Board on November 20th, 208.
    3. The Truth in Taxation Determination 2008 is to be established and approved Oct. 30, 2008.
  • Road Business
    1. The Road Commissioner stated the the representatives from Carrie-Scharf Inc. have shown some signs of resolving the Cilco Lane issue.
    2. The Road Commissioner stated that the oil quality for resealing the township roads is less than desirable.
    3. Also noted was that a washout by Hollis Grade School is to be repaired as soon as possible.
  • New Business
    1. The new mileage reimbursement rate approved by the IRS has been adopted and is subject to future changes.
    2. Salaries for new term officials beginning May of 2009 were briefly discussed and will be finalized at the Oct 30th meeting.
