• Visitors
    1. The Board recognized Mr. Steve Jaeger, Executive Director from the Heart of Illinois Regional Port District who presented an update on the current status of the old Caterpiller Foundry site and stated that this site is no longer available at this time for Port Authority aquisition, but another site is under consideration. Also a bio-diesel is under consideration in this general area.
    2. The Board then recognized Mr. Jeff Hurst who presented information on becoming a Certified Tax Assessor fot the township.
    3. The Board then recognized Mrs. Alice Dailey who also voiced an interest in the Assessor's position and also gave information on the Certification of the Assessor position.
  • Town Building, Grounds, and Equipment
    1. The Board held a brief discussion on the needed repair of the security light on the maintenance building.
  • Communications and Correspondence
    1. Two letters of appreciation were noted and accepted by the Board.
  • Town Business
    1. It was noted that the tentative Town and Road District budgets will be presented for approval on the March 24, 2010 meeting.
  • Road Business
    1. It was noted that a Carrie-Scharf settlement is not yet completed.
    2. The Road Commissioner stated that there are still some equipment problems that need to be addressed.
    3. The Road Commissioner reported that though a number of mailboxes had been knocked down in the area due to snow-plowing, Hollis Township has been responsible for only one.
    4. The Road Commissioner also reported that approximately 36 loads of road salt had been used to date at a cost of $26,000.
    5. The Road Commissioner reported thatt the Peoria County Circuit Clerk's office has forwarded part of the restitution due the township for damages to township property.
    6. The Road Commissioner informed the Board that a tentative grant is in process for sign replacement.
  • Trustees
    1. Information was presented from those attending the recent T.O.I.R.M.A. meeting held at Princeville Township.
    2. The Board discussed various points for the fillng of the vacant Assessors position.
    3. The Board discussed the placing of FOIA officer contact information on the Township website.
    4. Also discussed was the use of a form for requestion placement of items on the Meeting Agenda.
  • New business
    1. The Board discussed and approved the payment for those who desire to attend the annual Topics Day through Township Officials of Illinois to be held Tues. April 20, 2010 in Springfield, Illinois.
    2. The Board also approved the payment for those wishing to attend the T.O.I.A. 2010 Education Program for District #7.
    3. The Board then discussed and approved the Schedule of Hollis Township meetings for the ficscal year of April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011.
