- Mr. Darin LaHood, candidate for the States Attorney of Peoria office gave a briefing on his reasons for running for this office.
- Mr. Brad Harding a candidate for the Peoria County Board also explained his reasons for running for this position.
- Communications and Correspondence
- The Board received information on a possible new state constitution.
- The Board also received copies of the 2008-2009 Legislative Survey.
- The Board also was informed of a community meeting to be held at the town hall on Wed. Oct 1st 2008 at 6:00 P.M. regarding prwlers and thefts in some areas of Hollis Township.
- Town Business
- The Board received the annual treasurer's report.
- The Auditors are scheduled to address the Board on November 20th, 208.
- The Truth in Taxation Determination 2008 is to be established and approved Oct. 30, 2008.
- Road Business
- The Road Commissioner stated the the representatives from Carrie-Scharf Inc. have shown some signs of resolving the Cilco Lane issue.
- The Road Commissioner stated that the oil quality for resealing the township roads is less than desirable.
- Also noted was that a washout by Hollis Grade School is to be repaired as soon as possible.
- New Business
- The new mileage reimbursement rate approved by the IRS has been adopted and is subject to future changes.
- Salaries for new term officials beginning May of 2009 were briefly discussed and will be finalized at the Oct 30th meeting.
