• Town Building, Grounds, and Equipment
    1. A motion was approved to renew the contract with Darcy Ray's Lawn Service for the 2010 season. Noted that the rates are unchanged.
    2. Also approved was the replacement of the meeting room microwave oven.
  • Communications & Correspondence
    1. Noted was that all association dues will be paid on the April 29th 2010 Board Audit.
    2. A notice was received concerning the TOIRMA refund.
    3. A message was received form the City and County of Peoria concerning the Code Red Community Notification System.
  • Town Business
    1. The Board held further discussion concerning the burned house on Tuscarora Road.
    2. The Board reviewed the Spring Seminar announcement received from Heyl Royster Voelker & Allan Attorneys concerning recent developments of FOIA.
  • Clerk Business
    1. Requested the copies of Economic Interest Statements from the elected officials for filing with the county clerk.
  • Road Business
    1. Noted that the Carrie-Scharf case has been continued.
    2. A brief report was given on the Pekin Lamarsh Drainage District's meeting held Tuesday March 23, 2010.
    3. The Road Commissioner reported that the equipment is going through the seasonal change over.
    4. The Road Commissioner gave a report on the current rock supply needed for road repairs.
    5. The Road Commissioner gave a report about the ongoing repairs to the soft spots on some roadways.
  • Trustees
    1. The Board discussed the hiring of an employee in the tax assessors office.
    2. The Board discussed the Responsible Bidder Ordinance. Further discussion will be scheduled for the April 29th 2010 meeting.
  • Tax Assessor
    1. It was noted that Alice Dailey will begin training in April to complete the training necessary for certification to become the Hollis Township Tax Assessor.
    2. Also noted was that letters of appreciation will be sent to those inividuals who applied for the tax assessor's position.
  • Old Unfinished Business
    1. A motion was approved to purchase a gift certificate for Alice Dailey for the many hours donated to help complete our 2010 Census Update Appeal.
    2. Topics Day April 20, 2010 was discussed and noted which officials were planning to attend.
    3. Also discussed was the 2010 Education Program for District 7 and which officials are registered to attend.
  • New Business
    1. A motion was approved to adopt the Township Loss Control Policy #2010-01.
    2. A motion was also approved for the appointment of Jack D. Rendleman as a trustee for the Tuscarora Fire Dept. for a three year term.
    3. Also approved was the agenda for the Annual Town Meeting to be held Tuesday April 13th, 2010.
    4. The Board also approved a letter of engagement from Willock Warning & Co. P.C. to conduct the annual audit.
    5. Also approved were the Tentative Budget & Appropriation Ordinances for both the Township of Hollis and the Road District of Hollis.
    6. A motion was then approved for the hiring of Alice Dailey to work in the tax assessor's office for Hollis Township effective April 1, 2010 as an employee.
