MINUTES REGULAR MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
THURSDAY, JANUARY 26, 2012
After the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Supervisor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. @ the Hollis Town Hall, 6430 West Wheeler Road, Mapleton, Illinois 61547-9615.
Board Members Present:
Supervisor Gary W. Thomas; Clerk Harry L. Sweet, Jr. and Trustees: William J. Gerdes, Tal B. Beckman, James E. Bailey and Brian B. Fengel.
The Supervisor announced a quorum was present.
The Road Commissioner, Dennis R. Beckman and the Tax Assessor, Alice B. Dailey attended this meeting.
Visitors: Peoria County Board Member, Brad Harding will arrive at 8:00 P.M. See New Business.
APROVE MINUTES of Previous Meetings:
Prior to tonight’s meeting, copies of Minutes from the Regular Monthly Meeting held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 were distributed to Board Members for their review.
MOTION to accept the Minutes as presented made by Brian Fengel; second Tal Beckman. The
motion passed unanimously with all ayes.
AUDIT CURRENT EXPENDITURES, Investments, Transfer of Funds, Budget Line Item Transfers:
1. MOTION to accept for payment all Town Fund Invoices as presented to the Board on the Disbursement Summary January 26, 2012.
Motion Jim Bailey; second Bill Gerdes. The motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
2. MOTION to accept for payment all General Assistance Invoices as presented to the Board on the Disbursement Summary January 26, 2012.
Motion Bill Gerdes; second Tal Beckman. The motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
Summary of expenses paid this Board Audit: DLW31910 - $245. General Assistance Monthly Flat Grant payment on January 19, 2012. for resident waiting SSI; WLG11210 - Bogard Drug, Inc. $95.19 pre-approved prescription drugs 12/22/11 and Heartland Health Clinic $20. co-pay pre-approved office visit on 12/08/11. Both payments were made Jan. 19, 2012.
3. MOTION to accept for payment all Road & Bridge Fund Invoices as presented to the Board on the Disbursement Summary January 26, 2012.
Motion Brian Fengel; second Tal Beckman. The motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
4. MOTION to approve reinvesting $ 30,589.13 in Road & Bridge Funds into a Certificate of
Deposit at Better Banks, Bartonville, Illinois for a period of 12 months at an interest rate of
.35%; Interest shall be added semi-annually.
(The current Certificate of Deposit #24946 is maturing on January 28, 2012 and was invested for a period of 12 months @ .65%. Maturity value is $30,589.13.)
Motion Brian Fengel; second Tal Beckman. The motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
5. MOTION to accept for payment the Equipment & Building Fund Invoices as presented to the Board on the Disbursement Summary January 26, 2012
Motion Jim Bailey; second Bill Gerdes. The motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
TOWN BUILDING, GROUNDS & EQUIPMENT:
A light has been installed on the maintenance shed above the bulletin board to help illuminate the front of the office building and the parking lot.
COMMUNICATIONS & Correspondence:
1. A letter was received from the Peoria County Clerk requesting an alphabetical list of names and addresses of Hollis Township Elected Officials who must file a Statement of Economic Interest no later than May 1, 2012. The list must be supplied to the County Clerk by February 1 each year; our secretary faxed this list on January 4, 2012.
The County Clerk usually sends these Statements to Elected Officials in March or April each year.
Note to Officials: When you receive your Statement of Economic Interest, please complete and sign the form and bring it with you to a Regular Monthly Meeting. We will make copies for our permanent records. Our Clerk will file all Statements of Economic Interest prior to the May 1 deadline at the County Clerk’s Office. Thank you.
2. All Hollis Township officials and employees will receive their W-2’s for the year 2011 on/or before the deadline – January 31, 2012.
Board Members: Please find your W-2 tonight with your meeting information.
3. 1099’s for the year 2011 will be mailed on/or before the deadline – January 31, 2012.

ROAD BUSINESS ~ Highway Commissioner:
Peoria County Highway Department Motor Fuel Tax: Report not yet received for the month of January 2012. Will update @ the February 23, 2012 Regular Monthly Meeting.
TRUSTEES/ Information / Business: nothing submitted.
TAX ASSESSOR’S OFFICE / Information / Business:
Alice Dailey submitted the Tax Assessor’s Budget Request for fiscal year 2012-2013.
OLD UNFINISHED BUSINESS: none.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Peoria County Board Member Brad Harding spoke with the Township Board regarding various issues affecting Townships and the recent energy saving options offered by utility vendors.
2. MOTION to adjourn made by Jim Bailey; second Brian Fengel. The motion passed unanimously.
