Alice graduated from Morton High School.
After meeting her husband Larry, they moved to Mapleton where Larry grew up and lived all of his life. For more than 50 years Mapleton has been their home.
Alice and Larry had a computer service bureau business for 25 years. She went to
work at the Mapleton Post Office in 1967.
Alice served as clerk for the Village of Mapleton from 1966 until retiring in 2008.
She is very active in her church, Mapleton Church and has served as a board member since 1986.
She was on the building and planning committee for the construction of the new Mapleton Church after a fire completely destroyed their old church. She is very proud of the committees accomplishments managing the construction of their new church and for serving on that committee.
After working 42 1/2 years at the Mapleton Post Office she retired in December of 2008; serving 23 years of that time as the Postmaster. Being retired was not enough and now she completed all of the necessary training to become certified and took on the challenging job of Hollis Township Assessor
Alice likes to walk and you will see her walking to the Hollis Park Recreation Center where she has volunteered for many years. Sometimes you may also see her walking to Hollis Township Office Building to do her Assessor's work.
She really enjoys flowers and her yard is full of color during the growing season
